Last month L'Oreal came in and demonstrated a diamond sectioning technique for Balayage, using L'Oreal’s new 9 Levels Blond Lightening Powder with oil developer and added protection from Smartbond.
We were shown the diamond technique for applying the bleach during a balayage, I really thought it worked because she showed us how you can frame the face and get a nice blend. There is so many ways to do a balayage, this one in particular is going to be good to use on people with thicker hair. Having this session with the trainer really helped me in boosting my confidence and I’m looking forward to doing more.
After this training session I continued on and did a balayage on natural hair, I was lucky enough to have Charlotte Grey who is the British Thai Boxing champion in her weight category as my model.
I did this balayage in three sections and I was very pleased with my result. The blend was really soft there were no harsh lines or points. the finished result looked so natural and sun kissed it suited my Charlotte and she loved the finished result.
We explored some great products with the Lóreal trainer, Emily David. The new Blond Studio 9 levels lightening powder is a high performance formula that lifts your hair up to 9 levels and provides optimal neutralisation. Blond Studio 9 levels improves your hair's cosmeticity and is ideal for natural and coloured hair. Due to its creamy texture its a nice addition to use when doing freehand painting for a balayage.
Smartbond is a amazing product it's a perfect addition to any hair colour treatment as it protects the hair whilst colouring. Smartbond is a hair service that protects the bonds for stronger hair fibre during lightening and colour services. Smartbond is for all types of hair and after your treatment the Smartbond will leave your hair stronger, softer and shiner, whats not to love…
Over all the L'Oreal in salon training experience was very helpful and I am looking forward to creating more balayage's for my customers and putting into practice everything I have learnt.
